Dominant of Ifrit ᛞᛟᛗᛁᚾᚨᚾᛏ᛫ᛟᚠ᛫ᛁᚠᚱᛁᛏ

You harbour the flames of Ifrit, Eikon of Fire, within you. Whereas the Phoenix’s flames represent life-giving warmth and rebirth, Ifrit’s hellfire represents destruction and upheaval. The Pyreburner has something of a rebellious spirit, his Dominants finding his manifestation especially difficult to control.
Ifrit is sometimes viewed as champion of the downtrodden, the notorious outlaw bringing justice (or base revenge) upon the high and mighty who misuse their position. Fittingly, those are the very circumstances that most often see his Dominance rise to the surface—a warrior fighting against the corrupt who would put a village to the torch for simple profit suddenly burns with an inner fire, and lays waste to the villain’s lackeys.
Pyreburner Trance
When you select this Eikon, you gain the following benefits:
- Burning Blade.
- Your Eikon’s associated damage type is Fire.
- Breaker of Chains.
- You gain proficiency in heavy armour.
- Tongue of Flame.
- You can speak, read, and write Ignan.
While in an eikonic trance, you gain the following additional benefits:
- Will-o’-the-Wykes.
- A storm of fireballs surrounds you. When you enter your trance, and as a bonus action on your subsequent turns, you can cause the flames to fan out and strike those around you, causing all other creatures within 5 feet of you take 2 fire damage each. The damage increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 3 at 5th level, 4 at 10th level, 5 at 15th level, and 6 at 20th level.
- Flaming Deflection.
- If a creature within 15 feet of you hits you with a weapon attack, you can dismiss the fireballs to block the strike as a reaction—the creature must reroll the d20 and use the lower roll. As the swirling flames deflect the blow, the creature which made the attack takes 2d6 fire damage. After using this feature, the Will-o’-the-Wykes fade, and cannot be called upon until your next trance.
Favour of the Inferno
You learn the cantrips Scarlet Cyclone and Firelight. They are dominant spells for you, and Charisma is your spellcasting ability for them. Additionally, you gain Eikon spells at the dominant levels listed.
| Dominant Level | Eikon Spells |
|---|---|
| 2nd | Burning Hands |
| 5th | Flaming Sphere |
| 9th | Fireball |
| 13th | Wall of Fire |
| 17th | Vulcan Burst |
Breath of the Inferno
Beginning at 10th level, while you are in an eikonic trance, you gain the following additional effects, as your body takes on more of Ifrit’s features.
- Infernal Flesh.
- Your type changes to Elemental as your arms and legs are covered in flaming armour flowing with molten magma, you grow an infernal tail, and your head is crowned by Ifrit’s fiery horns.
- Eikonic Size.
- If you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If there isn’t enough room for you to become Large, your size doesn’t change.
- Eikonic Agility.
- Your speed increases by 15 feet, you have advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks, and your jump distance is tripled. (This effect cannot be stacked or combined with other jump distance increases.)
- Further Reach.
- Your reach increases by 5 feet.
- Will-o’-the-Wykes Mastery.
- The area of effect of Will-o’-the-Wykes expands to 10 feet.
- Deflection Mastery.
- You can use the Flaming Deflection feature once each Eikonic Trance without dismissing the flames.
- Cyclone Mastery.
- When you cast Scarlet Cyclone, you may choose to expand its reach. If you do, it hits all other creatures within 10 feet of you.
Will of the Inferno
At 15th level, the Chainbreaker’s fury grants you further durability. You gain immunity to fire damage.
Hellfire
From 18th level, as an action while in an Eikonic Trance, you can call forth the raging flames of the Pyreburner to devastate all before you. You gather a churning orb of molten magma and condensed flames, and throw it at a point you can see within 300 feet, where it erupts. Each creature or object in a 40-foot sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take 12d6 fire damage. On a success, they take half of that damage instead.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Pyreburner’s Ascension
Once you attain 20th level, your Eikonic Trance transforms you into a true manifestation of the Lord of the Inferno. You gain the following additional benefits while in an Eikonic Trance.
- True Size.
- Your size can now increase to Huge instead of Large.
- Furthest Reach.
- Your reach increases by 5 feet. (For a total of +10 feet.)
- Infernal Hide.
- Your AC can’t be less than 20.
- Whirls of Ire.
- The area of effect of Will-o’-the-Wykes expands to 15 feet.
- Brimstone.
- When you cast Scarlet Cyclone, you may expand its reach further. If you do, it hits all other creatures within 15 feet of you.
- Primal Fang.
- Your claws and your bite become natural weapons, which count as weapons worth 1 gp for the purpose of spell components. They deal 2d8 fire damage on a hit. You can choose to use either your Strength or Charisma score for attack and damage rolls with them. (They gains the bonus damage from your Eikonic Trance and from Magic Burst.)
