Akkanmiir's Lightning Spear

Formidable lightning spell said to have been developed by the bronze dragon Akkanmiir in service to the Golden Greatwyrm—and today known as the dragon’s signature spell.

You create two large spears of lightning, rising slightly into the air. Then you thrust the spears into the ground, and lightning erupts around you. Each other creature within 30 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw, or take 8d8 lightning damage, and be knocked prone. A creature that succeeds on its saving throw takes half as much damage, and isn’t knocked prone.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slots of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
