The following page lists rulings regarding class features and optional features for existing classes.

Subclasses from Unearthed Arcana has not been considered in these assessments. If you wish to play a subclass from such material, consult your DM.

Barbarian

Optional class features

All primary class barbarians may use the Primal Knowledge and Instinctive Pounce optional features.

Bard

College of Spirits—Spiritual Focus

Change the second paragraph of this feature to the following (changes marked in italics):

“Starting at 6th level, when you cast a bard spell that deals damage or restores hit points while holding the Spiritual Focus, roll a d6, and you gain a bonus to one damage or healing roll of the spell equal to the number rolled.”

(As originally stated, the feature applied to very few spells.)

Optional class features

All bards may use the Bardic Versatility and Magical Inspiration optional features.

Cleric

New Archetype—Archivist

A new archetype for the cleric is available: the Archivist.

Optional Class features

All clerics may use the Cantrip Versatility and Blessed Strikes optional features.

Only clerics with one of the following domains may use the Channel Divinity: Harness Divine Power optional feature:

Banned: Peace Domain

This domain is banned, and may not be selected. If you wish to play it, speak with your DM.

Twilight Domain

The Channel Divinity: Twilight Sanctuary feature is modified as follows:

Druid

Optional class features

All druids may use the Cantrip Versatility optional feature.

Only primary class druids of the following circles may use the Wild Companion feature:

Fighter

Optional class features

All fighters may use the new Fighting Style options, and the Martial Versatility optional feature.

Arcane Archer

Make the following changes to the Arcane Archer’s features:

Arcane Shot (3rd-level).
The number of uses of this ability per short or long rest is equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum 2).
Curving Shot (7th-level).
The arrow is not required to be magical.

Monk

Natural weapons and Martial Arts

Monks with racial features that grant a natural weapon dealing slashing or piercing damage, such as the Fenrir’s Wolf Claws, may choose to deal that type of damage instead of bludgeoning damage with their Martial Arts feature whenever they use it. (Choose before you make the attack roll.)

Optional class features

All monks may use the Focused Aim optional feature.

Only monks of the following ways may use the Dedicated Weapon and Quickened Healing optional features:

Only monks of the following ways may use the Ki-Fueled Attack optional feature:

Paladin

Optional class features

All paladins may use the new Fighting Style options, and the Martial Versatility optional feature.

Only paladins of the following oaths may use the Channel Divinity: Harness Divine Power feature:

Ranger

Beast Master

The Primal Companion replacement feature is allowed for all beast masters, and using it is recommended.

Optional class features

All rangers may use the Primal Awareness replacement feature, the new Fighting Style options, and the Martial Versatility and Spellcasting Focus optional features.

All single class rangers may use the Deft Explorer and Favored Foe replacement features.

Only rangers of the following archetypes may use the Nature’s Veil optional feature:

Rogue

Optional class features

Only rogues of the following roguish archetypes may use the Steady Aim optional feature:

Sorcerer

Optional class features

All sorcerers may use the new Metamagic options and the Sorcerous Versatility feature.

The Magical Guidance optional feature is not available.

Twinned Spell

The following spells cannot be used in combination with the Twinned Spell metamagic. (This is merely clarification, not an exhaustive list. It may be expanded as rulings arise during play.)

Warlock

Optional class features

All warlocks may use the new Pact of the Talisman pact boon, and the Eldritch Versatility optional feature.

Pact Boon—Pact of the Blade

When you attack with your pact weapon, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls.

Wizard

Optional class features

All wizards may use the Cantrip Formulas optional feature.
