Wielding the reaping sharpness of Zantetsuken, you channel Death to bring your foes to their final end.
Blademaster’s Trance
When you this Eikon chooses you, you gain the following benefits:
- Pallid Plate.
- You gain proficiency in heavy armour.
- An End Unto All.
- Your spells and attacks against undead ignore resistance to necrotic damage, and treat immunity to necrotic damage as if it were resistance instead.
- Arm of Darkness.
- Your Eikon’s associated damage type is Necrotic.
- The Final Tongue.
- You can speak, read, and write Abyssal.
While in an eikonic trance, you gain the following additional benefits:
- Einherjar.
- Plates of Odin’s black armor wrap around you, granting a +1 bonus to AC.
- Blinding Steel.
- Your bladework is a flurry of flashing steel. When you enter an eikonic trance, and as a bonus action on subsequent turns, if you’re wielding a heavy melee weapon which lacks the reach property, you can make a melee weapon attack. The weapon’s damage die for this attack is a d4, and you don’t add your ability modifier to the damage of the attack.
Favour of the Dead
You learn the cantrip Sword Burst. It is a dominant spells for you, and Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it. Additionally, you gain Eikon spells at the dominant levels listed.
| Dominant level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 2nd | Rift Slip |
| 5th | Valknut |
| 9th | Gungnir |
| 13th | Summon Sleipnir |
| 17th | Circle of Malius |
Breath of the Dead
Beginning at 10th level, while you are in an eikonic trance, you gain the following additional effects, as your body takes on more of Titan’s features.
- Fiendish Flesh.
- Your type changes to Fiend, as your flesh blackens and the Blademaster’s obsidian armor further covers it.
- Eikonic Size.
- If you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If there isn’t enough room for you to become Large, your size doesn’t change.
- Further Reach.
- Your reach increases by 5 feet.
- Quieting.
- You add your ability score modifier to the damage roll of your Blinding Steel attacks.
- The Lord’s Measure.
- When you cast sword burst, you may choose to expand its reach. If you do, it hits creatures within 10 feet of you.
- Death.
- As a reaction when damage you deal reduces one or more creatures’ hit points to a number equal to or less than your Charisma modifier, you can reap their souls: each affected creature drops to 0 hit points. If an affected creature dies within 1 minute of this occurring, it cannot become undead nor be resurrected by the revivify spell. This effect ends for a creature if it is resurrected.
Will of the Dead
At 15th level, the Blademaster’s resilience grants you further durability. You gain immunity to necrotic damage.
Zantetsuken
From 18th level, as an action while in an eikonic trance, you can summon Odin’s impossibly sharp blade Zantetsuken. You swing it, cutting through any and all within a 90-foot cone in front of you. Each creature or object within it must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, they take 12d6 necrotic damage. On a success, they take half of that damage instead.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Blademaster’s Ascension
Once you attain 20th level, your eikonic trance transforms you into a true manifestation of the Blademaster. You gain the following additional benefits while in an eikonic trance.
- Herklaedi.
- Your AC bonus increases to +2.
- Great Divide.
- Your Blinding Steel attacks use your weapon’s regular damage dice rather than a d4.
- Destined Death.
- You can use your Death reaction when creatures fall to a number equal or less thrice your Charisma modifier.
